Container Deployment Technical Preview Program

Context

With the OutSystems 11 release, you can now deploy applications developed with OutSystems using container technology. For more information on this new capability please check the OutSystems documentation.

Why technical preview?

At OutSystems, we declare General Availability for a product capability when that capability has been proven in the field, from all perspectives including robustness and fit to use cases. Considering the architecture changes associated with deployment in containers, we will need a bit more time.

During Technical Preview,  OutSystems will closely monitor any production deployments, gather further feedback, and provide special support to customers deploying applications to containers.

While the Technical Preview program lasts, the “Deployment to containers” capability will be accessible only to customers who join the program.

Who can access the program?

Any customer with a valid OutSystems subscription may apply to the program. However, we recommend that you evaluate your skills in administration of container infrastructures and orchestration of deployment pipelines before you apply. OutSystems administration skills are not enough for successful deployment to containers.

Deploying to containers is not available in the OutSystems Cloud, including Personal environments.

How do I request access?

Make sure you are familiar with our container deployment options, limitations and system requirements by reading through our documentation. After that, go to our Support Portal and open a case requesting access to our Customer Support team. Please make sure you indicate which of the container technologies you want to use (Docker or Pivotal Cloud Foundry). Our Support team will validate your request and reissue your license to enable access to this deployment option.

Once this operation is done, please go to our Licensing Portal, download the updated licensing files and upload them to your environments Service Center.
