How to configure Pushwoosh for Android

To configure Pushwoosh for Android, follow these steps:

Obtain a Google Project Number

For an application, Pushwoosh requires a Google Project Number. To create one, access Google API Console at https://console.developers.google.com and create a new project.

Locate the “Project Number” on the “IAM & Admin” page, Settings menu.

Set up Cloud Messaging for Android

Select APIs and search for “Cloud Messaging for Android” and….

... enable the API for your application.

Obtain Google API Key

Access the firebase console at https://console.firebase.google.com/ and import your google project.

Select Project Settings and click Cloud settings to obtain the Server Key (the Google API Key) and Sender ID.

Access Pushwoosh and Create Application

Access your Pushwoosh account at: https://cp.pushwoosh.com/applications. Create a new application by clicking the Add new button.

Pushwoosh recommends the setup of two applications: one for development and one for distribution.

In this scenario, however, we create a single application:

Give the new application a name, an icon and choose Pushwoosh under iOS SDK and Android SDK. Click Save application.

Configure Android

In the screen that opens, you’ll see your Pushwoosh application code. This code is unique to your application. In the Android ribbon on this screen, click Configure.

Complete the required information. API Key is the Google API Key obtained in step 3, GCM Sender ID is the Sender ID also obtained in step 3. Framework should be set to Native.

Click Save. You've now configured Pushwoosh for Android.
