How to Install Trusted Advisor

Trusted Advisor an internal tool designed to support Success Plans therefore with limited availability.

Describes requirements and installation steps

Requirements

  • OutSystems Platform 9.1 or higher
  • LifeTime must be deployed in a dedicated environment
  • The following applications (available in Forge) must be installed in LifeTime and Development environments
  • LifeTime environment must be able to connect to Trusted Advisor Web Service available at
    https://trustedadvisor.outsystems.com/TrBrk_API/TrustedAdvisorWS.asmx
  • To collect Architecture metrics, Discovery version 2.0.9 (for P9.1) / 3.0.9 (for OS 10) or higher must be published in the Development environment
  • To collect Performance metrics, LifeTime Analytics must be enabled on the non-development environments to be monitored

Installation Steps

  1. Make sure pre-required applications are installed in both LifeTime and Development environments
  2. On LifeTime environment, open Service Center and publish the solution “Trusted Advisor LifeTime Probe” that was previously provided to you by the Trusted Advisor team
  3. On Development environment, open Service Center and publish the solution “Trusted Advisor Environment Probe” that was previously provided to you by the Trusted Advisor team
  4. Go to LifeTime and open the “Trusted Advisor” plugin under the “More” menu
  5. Click the “Configuration” button
  6. Confirm Trusted Advisor SaaS API URL is set to 
    https://trustedadvisor.outsystems.com/TrBrk_API/TrustedAdvisorWS.asmx
    • This is the URL used to connect to Trusted Advisor SaaS
    • Do not change it afterwards, otherwise the plugin will stop working
  7. Configure each environment to be monitored:
    1. Click “Configure”
    2. Select appropriate “Environment Type” for the environment:
      • Choose "DEV" for the Development environment, where code will be analyzed (same one where probe was installed previously)
      • Choose "QA" for the environment where runtime performance will be analyzed - usually a Production or Quality Assurance environment
      • "PRD" type is not to be used yet
      • Only 1 environment of each type can be selected 
    3. Click “Save and Activate probe” and confirm
  8. Go back to “Home” - the plugin is now configured and will periodically collect data to send to Trusted Advisor for analysis
